I'm a sucker for anything sparkly, which makes Ashish one of my absolute favourites and I was once again blown away by their design efforts for the Autumn Winter 2012 collection, shown today at London Fashion Week.
The collection featured plenty of trademark Ashish sequinned pieces (which kept me happy) and was inspired by 'New Age, rainbows and Goa.' The Indian influence is clear throughout the collection, which included eccentric facial jewellery, head scarves, colourful patterns, and prints inspired by Krishnaism and Taoism - ancient religious denominations which are associated with India and China.
Ashish mixed up the ancient and traditional influences with rainbow platform boots, colourful denim, 1970s-esque prints, tie-dye, and tops and knitwear emblazoned with slogans such as 'HEAVEN 7', 'DON'T GO' and 'BE HAPPY'.
I'm so impressed by this collection, one of my favourites of LFW so far! If you feel that this collection might be a little out of your budget when it becomes available for purchase, do look out for another Ashish x Topshop collaboration which is due later this year.
