Tights Please recently set me a blogger challenge: styling a pair of coloured and patterned tights! The tights in question are the Red Or Dead Erica tights in cobalt. I really like the silver criss-cross pattern up each leg, however I've never worn blue tights before so building an outfit around them was definitely an interesting challenge for me. I decided to put include the tights in three different outfits for three different occasions:
Dress - Topshop | Bag - The Quiet Riot | Shoes - eBay
Here I'm wearing the blue tights with a nude dress and black suede shoes and bag and a silver cuff. The neutral colours help to tone down the tights to make them more appropriate for a dinner with friends or family, or a small get-together!
Velvet shirt - vintage | Jumper - Primark | Skirt - Primark | Boots - Primark
I chose to pair the tights with a very wintery outfit for my casual look, because I think that they're well suited to A/W fashion. I layered a thick black knitted jumper over a deep burgundy velvet shirt and faux leather pleated skirt, and finished it off with faux leather ankle boots. The colours are dark and don't clash with the tights, making them the statement piece of this outfit.
Top - eBay | Shorts - American Apparel | Shoes - Topshop
For a night out / party look, I chose to focus on the silver pattern in the tights and chose my top and shoes to match. I'm wearing black American Apparel disco shorts to fully show off the tights.
What do you think? Which is your favourite? Would you rock coloured tights?
