W3LL PEOPLE Narcissist - a Natural Foundation Review

W3LL PEOPLE Narcissist Foundation Stick - Cult Beauty*

Recently I had the pleasure of going to afternoon tea with Cult Beauty (at the aesthetically and gastronomically wonderful Sketch London), attended by its inspirational founder Alexia as well as the women behind natural skincare and make-up brands SkinOwl, Odacite and W3LL PEOPLE. I was particularly interested in W3LL PEOPLE; I love make-up but I know that a lot of the brands and products I use are full of things that are not very good for my skin, and so the promise of a natural alternative was very enticing.

Shirley Pinkson, former creative consultant at NARS and founder of W3LL PEOPLE (a US based natural make-up brand) was also in attendance at the afternoon tea. She talked about how W3LL PEOPLE is performance led; just because the products are natural (with no fillers, parabens, propylene glycol etc., which I learned are all things to avoid) doesn't mean that they are any less effective. I had been wanting to swap to a natural foundation for some time but was under the misconception that nothing natural would match up to their synthetic counterparts, so I was particularly enticed by this promise.

With all this in mind I was very keen to try out some W3LL PEOPLE products, and decided to pick up the Narcissist foundation. Firstly, it comes in a shade that is pale enough for me ('pale ivory'), which is the first box ticked. The formula is super creamy and easy to apply with a brush or even with your fingers, and I say this as a person who loathes and detests applying foundation with my fingers. It provides a decent medium coverage; I still set it with a powder (as I personally would with any foundation) and I have found that if I have a particularly bad spot or 4-hours-sleep style dark circles I do still have to use a concealer, but that is quite normal for any foundation. All in all I'm really impressed with the Narcissist foundation stick, and at £30 it's no harsher on the bank balance than any other high end foundation, but much less harsh on the skin. Try it out, via Cult Beauty.
